Steering Committee

The Steering Committee consists of FuturoFund Austin committee chairs and founding members and is responsible for developing policies that guide FuturoFund Austin.

Grants

Chair(s): Nadia Barrera & Rich Villa

The Grants Committee develops, reviews and updates the process for selecting grantee organizations each year, conducts the review and evaluation of grant proposals submitted to FuturoFund Austin, and discusses ways to improve the substance and process of FuturoFund’s grantmaking. The Committee will make grant recommendations to the full membership for voting.

Communications / Special Events

Chair(s): Raul Garza

The Communications/Special Events Committee oversees the content displayed on Austin Community Foundation website, including general information about FuturoFund Austin, current membership and ways to get involved, committee descriptions, events calendar, and awarded grants. This committee also coordinates press/media requests.

Finance

Chair(s): Open

The Finance committee will track all member pledges and contributions to FuturoFund. Working closely with the Austin Community Foundation, the committee will appropriately recognize all contributions and create processes for the collection of outstanding pledges and commitments. The committee will also oversee the disbursement of grant payments to FuturoFund grantees.

Membership / Outreach

Co-Chairs: John-Michael V. Cortez & Priscilla Guajardo Cortez

The Membership/Outreach committee provides information to prospective members and welcomes new members, facilitating their participation in FuturoFund Austin committees, activities and events. The committee, in collaboration with the Communications/Special Events committee, plans new member recruitment activities and member-only events throughout the year. This committee also coordinates leadership development training opportunities.
