FuturoFund Presents: Community Superheroes! Session 2: Sharing the Journey

Community Superheroes!

A five-part program focused on growing individuals to become more effective volunteers, leaders, and change agents in our community. Whether you are just beginning to explore the possibility of getting involved or are already an engaged community volunteer, this program is for YOU!

Participants will gain increased competence and confidence in becoming an effective community leader through interactive sessions on topics including:
· volunteer and non-profit board leadership skills
· fundraising and friendraising strategies
· managing your time and passions

Upon successful completion of the Community Superheroes! program, participants will be well prepared to serve as an active member of a local nonprofit board and a more effective community volunteer.

FuturoFund Austin is pleased to be able to provide this valuable programming at an affordable cost:
· $20 per session for members FuturoFund Austin (Join us!)
· $30 per session for all others

Session fees include materials, some meals and refreshments, and a special invitation to join us for a FuturoFund Austin reception.

Session 2: Sharing the Journey: Learning the art of “Friend Raising”

What’s the first thing you do after you see a great movie, discover a cool restaurant, or turn on to some new music? Tell a friend, of course! In this dynamic workshop, you will consider our dearest resource—friends—and how you can share with them your passion for making an impact on the Hispanic community. Some call it fundraising, but we call it “friend raising.” Whatever you’ve heard about asking friends for money, throw it out the window. Giving feels good. Learn how to naturally and easily share that good feeling with friends, old and new.
